It was shown by Hodgson and Kerckhoff that 
on the number of exceptional surgeries, 
there exists a universal upper bound. 

On the other hand, on a knot in the 3-sphere, 
the range of exceptional surgery slopes is unbounded 
with respect to the standard coodinate of slopes. 

In this article, we will give some bounds on 
the range of exceptional surgery slopes 
with respect to the coordinate above 
in terms of the genera of knots.
